Not least because of the Carolingian palatinate including the cathedral and the town hall the area inside the most inner street-belt of Aachen- City, called the moat-belt is identified as "Aachen downtown monument area". The so called gate-roads, heading from this zone to the next belt, the avenue-belt, leading to places, where the former or still existing gates were (once) located, are added to area this as well. Altogether this zone includes 101 streets by different length.
In recent years most of the buildings at these roads have been pictured more or less in a frontal way. The task of our office is to combine the more than 2500 pictures to whole street-prospects and to add missing buildings or road sections.
Our client is Aachen special department 61 responsible for city-development, traffic-equipment and monument-care.
